Family should be at the heart of any home and its design

A beautiful and balanced home can truly change the way a person feels.

ABOUT

Now based in Massachusetts, I was raised in Connecticut by hard-working parents who taught me the value of entrepreneurship. My mom and dad were creative in different ways, but together ran a working farm that has been in our family since the late 1800s. The farm is the reason I fell in love with antique treasures, old homes and learned about running your own business.

I began my career as an Art Director in the advertising world. From there I gained a solid understanding of color, spatial relations and design harmony. Over the years I spent many hours scouting out beautiful homes for photoshoots, and my eyes were opened to the world of interiors.

Interior design in Westwood & Mefield Massachusetts

I made the transition to interior design – and haven’t looked back since! I have spent the last 7 years immersing myself in what I consider my creative calling. I love, love, LOVE what I do! It is the best feeling to see my clients even more happy in their home than they ever thought they could be. A beautiful and balanced home can truly change the way a person feels.

In addition to running my business, I’m also raising two sweet girls with my wonderful husband. When I’m not happily surrounded by paint chips and fabric swatches, or scouring antique shops for just the right piece, I also enjoy travel, playing soccer and coaching my kids in sports!

MY DESIGN STYLE

I always strive for sophisticated design that has balance. My personal style would best be described as transitional with nods to contemporary and always adding in a few antique gems. I do have a little farm girl / farmhouse in me, but I always tailor my designs to each clients individual style.

I gravitate towards a base of neutrals mixed with pops of color, subtle contrast and plenty of texture. Artwork is one of my favorite elements in a room and I believe it can be a fantastic starting point – or the piece that pulls everything together. I also always try to bring in one or two ‘showstoppers’ in every space! Great design should create a buzz and get people talking.

the details make all the difference.

I’m a family girl with two kids of my own, and believe that family should be at the heart of any home and its design. I strive to create a comfortable, beautiful space that your family is excited to come home to. With so many performance fabrics and rugs available, your space can be kid/pet friendly and still well designed.

My favorite part of the design process comes at the end, when I can complete the picture by styling your new space with fun accessories and plenty of fresh flowers. I’m all about the details, and they make all the difference!

I’m comfortable working on any size project – from new builds to complete renovations to one-room updates – and collaborate well with builders, contractors and any other vendors. I especially love working with older homes because they have so much character and so many wonderful stories to tell.

I absolutely loved working with Courtney. Not only her style, but her easy-going personality made everything effortless. She designed the main room in our home with the most beautiful touches, yet the room is still fully functional for our family with four small kids. Look forward to utilizing Courtney for all our future home projects. Highly recommend!
